Holiday Recital -These are the moments for which video cameras were made

Faith had her dance recital tonight and even though not much happened, it was so adorable! There were close to 300 people watching and these girls had them all laughing. I thought Faith had the moves down pretty well, but it's a completely different story when they get on stage as you can see. These are the moments for which video cameras were made. (If you are watching with sound, scroll down to the bottom of the page first and pause my music player before starting the video)

Winter Wonderland

The snow that we had on Monday didn't even compare to the snowfall that happened today! There was over 6 inches in some parts of the valley, and we definitely got a sufficient amount at our house which means... SNOW ANGELS and even a little Faith sized SNOWMAN! Yea!

Right when it started snowing Faith asked to go outside and play in it. I told her we would have to wait until some actually stuck to the ground to play with, and that didn't take very long at all. We went out in the front of our house where we played in the snow for about 20 minutes. The first thing Faith wanted to do was catch a SNOWFLAKE on her tongue. She then attempted a snow angel, but it only lasted for about 2 seconds. Later she got brave and tried 2 more snow angels. We built a little snowman, and made some snowballs to throw. Then Mommy got too cold and wanted to go back inside :o) Faith would have stayed out there another hour if I would have let her.

Move Over Martha!

Okay, not really. I don't claim to be half as talented as Martha Stewart, that is just who I have felt like most of today and yesterday! Let's see, over the past 24 hours I have made 2 batches of double decker fudge, a large batch of homemade caramels, made Faith's tutu for her dance recital on Thursday, gone grocery shopping, cooked dinner, gone visiting teaching to 3 sisters and done the dishes about 5 times! WHEW! Faith and I have also been doing some crafts (making ornaments), but those are still a work in progress. Needless to say, I am not cooking dinner tonight, I am tired of being in the kitchen :o)

Let It Snow???

It is DUMPING SNOW here today and has been all morning. I have seen snow a couple of times here, but never this much in the 6 years that we have lived here. The good thing is that it has just barely started sticking to the grass, so the roads won't need plowed (yeah, like this city would be set up to do that anyway) and the driveways and sidewalks don't need shoveled, which is great because I highly doubt that anyone in this city owns a snow shovel or a snowblower. Faith is sooo bummed that there isn't enough snow on the ground to go out and make Snow-Angels, that is all that she keeps talking about. Hopefully when we go to Salt Lake, there will be some soft snow on the grass (not on the roads) so she can make some Snow-Angels and maybe even a Snowman. I have a feeling, though, that she won't be so anxious to roll around in the snow once she feels it.

Faith just looked outside and said, "Everything is getting ruined!" She is definitely not used to seeing snow in our yard!

New Due Date

My ultrasound last week revealed that I am further along than I thought. Yea! Okay, not that much further, only 5 days, but it is still encouraging because every day counts, especially when you cannot wait to get out of the first trimester. My new due date is June 8th, which means I am out of the first trimester this week - Woo hoo! The ultrasound tech was going to try to tell us the gender (which I had no idea was even possible this early) until I shouted out, "No! We don't want to know." It seems like everyone else is dying to know and is upset that we don't want to find out, but that's the plan and we'll see if we can make it all the way through without finding out the sex. With Faith, we could not wait to find out, so this time I thought it would be a fun surprise to wait.
